ALLEGED DEATH TRAP. By Telegraph—Press Ass««iatio*. Welington, Monday. Accompanied by the chief officials of the Union Company and Mr Young, secretary to the Seamen's Union, the Minister for Marine visited the steamer Maori to investigate a complaint by Mr Young as to the quarters' of stokers in the bowa of the vessel. Mr Young represented that in the event of a collision the firemen would be cut off from escape, ad the only exit from their quarters wa« right in the ship's bow. The men would be caught in a death-trap. The Minister promised his consideration of the matter.
