Wheat, 4e 2y 4 <l to 4s 3d. Potatoes and onions are at famine prices, and local potatoes are unprocurable. New Zealand sorts brought £lO, onions (Japanese) £2l, and a few Victorians are offering at £24. THE BRITISH GRAIN CROP. London, August 12. The Times' crop report estimates British wheat to be 90.4, barley 93.7, and oats 84.75. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date August 9:—Frozen Meat: —The market is firmer fo!r mutton, steadier for lamb, and slightly weaker for beef. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Welling!<-.u. have just received the following cablegram from their London office, under date August 9: —Tallow.—The market U unchanged, and practically all the offerings were sold.
