Scrutineer 9.13 (Hawkins) 1 Concave 11.7 (Ryan) 2 Yalwarra 10,7 (Bracegirdle) ... 3 Bulla warra 12.7, Guncap 11.7, May Do 11.5, Tundulya 10.13, Nimrod 10.11, Tinapagee 10.11, Leah Kleshna 10.9, Bribery 10.7, Central Green 10.3, Novar 10.3, United Kingdom 10.3, Big Bob 10.1, Zal 9.13, Rogue's March 9.11,, and W.T.S. 9.5 also started.

Big Bob jumped off from Leah Kleshna and Guncap. At the far term Leah Kleshna joined Big Bob, and tlhe order following was Central Green, Tinapagee, and United Kingdom. Striking a fence Tinapagee fell back. Central Green and Bullawarra fell at the treble, and Tundulya at the fence entering the straight, when the order was Leah Kleshna, Big Bob, Concave, Tinapagee and YalwaTra. At the sod wall Leah Kleshna fell, leaving Concave ahead from Scrutineer, Big Bob, W.T.S., and Yalwarra. A't the last fence Concave and Scrutineer were together, and Scrutineer coming on nicely won by a neckirom Concave, with Yalwarra ten lerfgths away. Time, 7min 55% sec.

£ CHAPTER OF ACCIDENTS. Received 12, 12.15 a.m. Melbourne, August 11. Nimrod was scratched just before the start of the Steeplechase, and only eight of the sixteen starters finished. The race proved fatal to three—Novar broke a leg and was destroyed, Central Green broke his neck, and Tundulya broke his back. The joekey Deeble sustained a fracture of tie collarbone. At the Rosehill meeting on Saturday tlhe Auburn Handicap, one mile, was won by the New Zealand mare loli (by Birkenhead—lsolt), Mavus being second and the imported horse Waltz thiTd. loli won by three lengths in Imin 43sec. The ex-New Zealand mare Blackpool (by Birkenhead—My Idea) won the High Weight Handicap, of six furlongs, at Rosehill on Saturday, from Irishman and Embracer. Blackpool won by fchre« lengths. Time, lmin 16'/ 3 sec.
