The Labor Council, after a long discussion, adopted by 61 votes to 58 the recommendation of the executive committee that no support be given to the Waihi strikers, as the dispute was not with the employers, but against, the rights of the engine-drivers and firemen. INFLAMMATORY LANGUAGE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Waihi. Friday. At a mass meeting of strikers, Mr. E. .T. Howard, of the Labor Federation Executive, and Mj - . J. O'Brien (Auckland) gave addresses. Mr. Howard urged the men to hold out to the end of the year. If they did so the Federation would have put up one of the biggest fights in the history of New 7 Zealand. When unions were not in sympathy with the organisation he did not advocate retaining them. If not satisfied, such si union could go lo hell. The speaker hoped the executive would be able to reduce the levy to 5 per cent., thus reducing the burden of the coni tributing unions. I Mr. O'Brien dealt with the tactics of the 1.W.W., which in a measure he supported.
