Ten and a half million persons are already insured under the Insurance Act. two millions of whom are members of trade unions. 5.700,000 of friendly societies, and 3.500.000 are members of industrial insurance companies, of which the Prudential is the largest. There are 300,000 who are members of other approved societies, and nearly 3.000.000 who have insurance have not yet selected approved societies.
