The annual report of the Australian Jockey Club shows that the receipts from ! all sources were a considerable increase ' over the previous year. The. sum of £71,575 was distributed in stokes. The added money- for the current season shows an increase of £0350. The new Lcger stand when completed will have cost £31,600 Further extensive additions and improvements are foreshadowed. DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunediu, Last Night. At a meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club's committee to-day it was decided to increase the stakes for the ensuing season by £790. The Dunedin Cup is to be increased by £.150. "NEW ZEALAND TURF REGISTER." "The New Zealand Turf Register'' for the season 1911-12, which ia now pub-l lished, is invaluable to all followers ofl the sports of racing and trotting, and] Its appearance is welcome in .the brief interval which elapses between the close of the old season's racing and the opening of the new. In this year's volraimc several changes have been made, all with a view to making the work more useful to 4(he student of form. One of the most important is the publication of the racing and trotting results of the season in two distinct sections, with the index for each section immediately following the results. All the races are numbered consecutively, and the .figures given in the index are those of the race numbers, instead of as 'hitherto the pages, so IrJhat thos« who wish to look up a horse's performances, whether in racing or trotting, will find tho work of reference greatly facilitated. The index is compiled so as to show not only a horse's ifins, but also its pla«ed performances. The "Register" contains ' much other valuable information, including Rifles of Racing, tables of past winners, entries for earning events, and results of the principal blook-stoek sales, all combining to make the volume an invaluable *addftion to the sportsman's library. As the edition is liimted, orders should be sent early, addressed to the Manager, Christchurch Press Company.
