APPOINTED A BARON. By Cable—Press Association— Copyright. Received 8, 11.30 p.m. „, , r London, August 8. The Master of Elibank has been raised to a barony. Mr. P. L. Illingworth will succeed him as Chief Whip. Lord Cowdray has offered Baron Elibank a partnership, and he will become a director in the Weetman Pearson firm. It is understood that the Murray estate, in Peebleshire. is somewhat embarrassed, and Viscount Elibank has giv en his son control of it.
