LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd... and Reduced, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date August 2: — Wool sales—The sales c(o3ed with good competition; 238,000 bales of wool were sold, of which 72,000 were taken for the Continent and 18,000 for America, 30,000 bales (being held over. As comjwiral with the last sale's closing rates, prices are higher 'by about 5 per cent. to 7% per cent, for medium and fine greasy crossbreds; higher by about 5 per cent, for coarse greasy crossbred and greasy merino; higher by about par to 5 per cent, for merino scouted, greasy crossbred lambs and crossibred slipes. Prices are lower by about par to 5 per cent, for crossibred scoured. Frozen meat—The market is steadier for beef, shows increased firmness for mutton, but is weaker for lamb. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London office under date August I: Frozen meat-—(Mutton: Market firmer. Any change in prices is in favor of sellers. Prime crossbred Canterbury mutton 3%d to 4y s d. Lamb: Market weaker. Any change in prices is in favor of buyers. Beef: Market neglected. Since our last wire prices are %d lower. iShee,pskins~-As compared with last sale's closing rates, fine combing chossbred is y 4 d per lb higher, coarse combing crossbred y t d to %d higher; clothing crossbred show an advance of y 4 d.
