Following is tne weather summary and forecast issued bv the Government Metc-oiologi-t:— Snnumin : A small area of low p"re-sure has passed in the northern districts, and the barometer has risen slightly. Westerly winds have predominated, but soutliHlic-s now prevail in the north and south-east. A gale is reported at East Cape this ;,;ternoon. Considerable rain has fallen ou the east coast of the North Wand. Forecast: Present indication= are for a falling barometer in the southern district?, and little movement at present in t!:e north. The wind ■will probably back U> the westward, and increase in force, especially southward of Kawhia and Castlepoint, for a storm area appears to be approaching from the ■westward.
