THE CORINNA. - The Corinna arrived from southern ports' on Saturday morning with about; WOO toils of general cargo. She sailed about 11 p.m. for Wellington and is to leave the latter port for New Plymouth again at 6 p.'m. to-day. She is due here to-morrow and will after discharging for Wellington, Tnnaru and Dunedin. The Corinna leaves Dunedin on her next trip for New Plymouth on August 10, coming via Oamaru, Tiniaru. Lyttelton and Wellington, Ijeing due here on the 16th.

Negotiations have been completed for the sale of the Rotoiti by the Union Company to the.Northern Company, and .she..'will in future be employed in the Whangarei-Auckland trade. The vessel was thoroughly .examined by the Northern Co.'s. officials and yvas found to he in a very satisfactory condition, and the opinion expressed by the directors of the company is that sh'e is th'c best.vessel that could he "procured in Australasia for the Whangarei service. A .amount of money is to be spent in providing additional accommodation and in making other alterations to ibring the vessel up-to-date. There is to bo saloon accommodation for 215 people, while accommodation tye provided,for 73 persons in the steerage. The Rotoiti -will develop a speed of from liy 2 to 12 knots, which Will he qtiite equal to .that of the Ngapuhi. Captain E. Stephenson,, at present in charge of the Ngapuhi, is to take command of the Rotoiti -when she enters the Whangarei trade.
