OLD AGE PENSIONER DIES. By Telegraph—Press Associattoa. Auckland, Yesterday. Robert Martin, an old age pensioner, was found dead at his residence this morning. He was apparently quite well last night. WOMAN'S SUDDEN DEATH. Pahiatua, Yesterday. Mrs. Lys, wife of the licensee of the Makuri Hotel, died suddenly yesterday morning. She was found by her husband lying on the floor of her bedroom in a state of collapse, and expired before medical assistance arrived. A RECKLESS RAILWAYMAN. Dannevirke, Yesterday. Patrick Cloherty. a railway surfaceman at Oringi, got on the wrong train at Dannevirke station last night. On discovering his mistake he jumped out, While facing the wrong way. His left foot went under one of the carriages and was severely crushed, and the leg mangled. He was taken to the hospital and his leg amputated below the knee. Cloherty, who was just finishing his annual leave, is doing moderately welf to-day.
BURNED TO DEATH. Timaru, Yesterday. Tvor Wilson, a young man, a life insurance agent, met his death last night in a shocking manner, He was making up his books when the kerosene lamp upset, setting his clothing on fire and also the room. The clothes were burnt off Wilson, and his body was shockingly burnt. After lingering in agony, Wilson died from shock. SUICIDE BY HANGING. Hamilton. Yesterday. The police have received information that a farmer named Alfred Shaw, residing between Ohapuo and Te Awamutu, has committed suicide bv hanging. ' °
