The Meteorological Department issued the following weather summary and forecast to-dav: -Summary: The barometer has shown a falling tendency everywhere, to-dav. but fine weather has prevailed, except in the- northern and southernmost districts, win k >Y-conditions have been Terv unsettled. »' " winds- h»ve been yar'iable and -owl-rate, with easterly breezes predominating. Forecast: lresent indications are for increasing haze and cloudiness a change following shortly for rain in most parts of the country and soon rorthward of East Cape and Kawhia and in Otago, freshening to easterly and northerly breezes, with a falling barometer everywhere. The aspect this afternoon is somewhat threatening in the far north.
