'WAITARA ROAD. (From Own Correspondent.) A very successful salt' of work, Christmas tree. and concert was held in the Nuircviigi Halj on Tlmredny last, in aid of St. ,folia's Church vicarage funds. Rain fell in the early part of" the day,, 'nit tliis did not prevent a good attendance. .Isri.sk business was done at the various stalls. The ladies of the district had been most energetic in getting together a good collection of various ;irticles for some time past, and the results of their effort must he considered very gratifying, the net proceeds amounting to £22 d«. Mr. Harrison presided ami thanked all who had assisted to make the aflair such a great success. Supper provided bv the ladies was handed round, after which the usual dance was held.
