SUMMARY AND FORECAST. \ By Telegraph —Prese Association, t " Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the follow ing summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:-Summary.-The weather was squally and showery on the fcast coast during Tuesday night, but improved to-dav, but conditions are now unsettled, both in the northern and southernmost districts. lair weather prevails elsewhere. Thr- winds are variable and the barometer has risen in the north, but has .shown n slight fall in the south to-day. Forecast.—Present indications are for fair to cloudy and milder weather generally, showery in the northern and southernmost districts. Variable winds will probably give way soon •to freshening northerlies. The barometer is very unsteady, but a falling tendency is expected everywhere Bhortly, for a disturbance is due at the end of the week.
