ARNST v. BARRY. By Cable—Press Associations-Copyright. London, July 28. Interest is quickening in what promises to be the linest race seen in England for a quarter of a century. Critics are agreed that Barry is in excellent form and that the easiness of his action, even when exerting his utmost powers, conserve his energy to a wonderful degree. Arnst's immense strength, power and superb stamina have greatly impressed every judge.
One critic remarks: "Were Arnst fit and well there would be a distinct inclination to plump for him, but there is just the question whether in this strange and variable climate he .can with impunity shed forty-two pounds in three montlis. This, coupled with his recent indisposition, suggests tho possibility of the strain afi'ecting- .him. Nevertheless, Arnst is showing such form that' Barry's taskis exceedingly difficult.
