LATEST BULLETINS. By Cable—Pre«s Association—Copyright. To&io, July 88. The Mikado passed a sleepless night, and was more fatigued. His respiration is very irregular, and he is now rapidly sinking. The Crown Prince has been summoned, with others of the family. Dense crowds are praying for his recovery. Bulletins are issued at frequent intervals. His temperature is 103.0, and he has cramp in his arms and legs and occasionally all over his body. Injections are totally ineffective. The pulse is 120 and irregular, with frequent stoppages; respiration 45, short, with spasmodic sounds. A FURTHER RELAPSE. A NATION IN MOURNING. Received 29, 11.45 p.m. Tokio, July 29. The Mikado had a relapse at one o'clock. A bulletin sTates that his pulse and respiration are too irregular to count. Camphor has been injected to relieve the severe pain. Crowds maintain a constant watch outside the palace, with bends uncovered and bowed in prayer. The temples are thronged day and night. The theatres and pleasure resorts, despite the Emperor's wish to the contrary, remain closed, and even the firebells are muffled. The Cabinet and Privy Council have been sitting practically in constant session for a week.
DEATH MOMENTARILY EXPECTED. Received 30, 12.20 a.m. Sydney, July 29. The Japanese Consul-General cables to-day stating that the Mikado, while suffering from asphyxia, was practically in convulsions. His death is momentarily expected.
