THE WEATHER
' SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—.Summary—The barometer commenced to rise in some parts early on Sunday morning, and conditions, though still very present an improved aspect this evening. Cold, showery, squally weather is reported in many parts, with a south-easterly gale at the East Cape, and a north-eastierly moderate gale at Cape Foulwind, accompanied by a local thunderstorm. Forecast—Present indications are for strong southerly winds generally, with cold, changeable and showery weather, but improving shortly. The barometer will probably rise everywhere for a few days, but another disturbance is likely to be in evidence about the end of the week.
