When the match between the Aus- j tralians and Hampshire was resumed the weather was warm and the wicket good. The partners, Kelleway and Gregory, added 17 to the overnight score, and then Kelleway was run out to a stroke by Gregory to mid-on. Brown hit the wicket. The partnership added 102. Gregory and Matthews made a good stand for the seventh wicket, adding 58. Two hundred was hoisted in ISO minutes. Gregory was caught at the wickets by Stone standing back. He played a chanceless innings, with splendid pulling and cutting. He hit eleven fours. Matthews was not beaten, but the others made no stand.

Requiring 83 to win, Hampshire accomplished the task in 45 minutes. After Whitty had bowled Bowell, Mead made a single and three fours off the rest of the over by faultless play.
