The Daily Telegraph says that those who have sculled against Arnst at practice have no great opinion of his pace, though he is very fast off at the start, but he never tires. It adds that Barry is paying special attention to starting fast, and if he can only show his old staying powers he may win owing to his superior knowledge of the course and the fact that Arnst is rather overtrained.
