They threaten, | unless the price is reduced to a reasonj able amount, to strike against handling , frozen shipments. The feeling in ship- : ping circles is that the real cause of the | unrest is a desire for a further increase | in wages.

The Wharf Laborers' Ujiion officials cold-shouldered the suggested strike as a protest over the clearness of meat. The secretary declared that if action was taken by a section of the men it could not bo regarded as (he act of the union. BACK TO WORK. Newcastle. July 22. Practically all the wheelers and shiftmen at the Hetton. liurwood and Sea pin collieries have withdrawn the notice given recently, and a feeling of relief has been caused in the district.
