GOLF.
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. On Saturday afternoon a bogey handicap for a prize presented by Mr. J. Pat-on was played in glorious golfing weather, and resulted in an easy win for W. B. Glasgow, with the excellent score of 4 up. The greens were in splendid order, though many players found them a little too fast for accurate putting. The best cards handed in were as follows: — W. B. Glasgow, handicap 6, 4 up. H. H. Ward (2), all square. C. H. Burgess (7), 2 down W. C. Weston (scr), 3 down. P. D. McCord (scr), 5 down. C. H. Weston (6), 5 down. E. S. Bayley (7), 5 down, On Thursday next ja. match will be played on the local links against lng'lewood, and those who are able to play are asked to hand in their names to the match committee at once.
