COUNTRY RACING CLUBS.

PROPOSED BILL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At a meeting of representatives of country .racing clubs of New Zealand to-night, a resolution was carried to promote a Bill during the coming session to restore the lost days of racing. During a long discussion Mr. Vavasour (Marlborough) said that the promotion of a Bill would be inadvisable. It would only add another lever for the "goody-goody" people and invite opposition all over the country. I Mr. Allison (Auckland) thought it a shaine that Canterbury had lost a day, but it would be a greater shame for Rangitikei to be wiped out.' Mr. H. Cooper (Manawatu) thought that this was a matter that should be dealt with by the Racing Conference. If a Bill was brought forward they would have a hornet's nest about their ears. Theyvwere going to have "wowsers" rising to reduce them.

Mr. Albert Bruce (Thames) said that if the larger clubs are going to show want of sympathy for smaller clubs,, then the smaller clubs are going to hv'.u •; '-'the whole bally thing" down. 1, was the injustice that had been practised by larger clubs on smaller clubs, that had brought them together. "I have no time,," he added, "for the man who will only look after his own skin."
