WIIO IS IX ERROR? By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Last Night. A rase containing peculiar features was mentioned at the Police Court this morning, when a man named John Thos. Stone, (arrested at Whatatutu on a. warrant issued at Christclmrch in October, 1907, was charged with wife-desertion. Sergeant Hutton explained that there were certain features about the case which were rather extraordinary. The man had handed him a newspaper showing that he had deserted his wife on his wedding day. and that a divorce was granted by Judge Edwards, at Auckland, last November. He (the Sergeant) had wired to Christclmrch for particulars, and ,had received a reply that nothing was known about' a divorce case.
