A ballot was 'taken to-day by the waterside workers on the question -wlier ther thev would secede from the Federation 'of Labor. The result was: Against the federation, 102; for the federation, 01. Dunedin, Last Night. A ballot was taken at the Kaitangata mine yesterday by the Federation Union to ascertain whether the men would favor an agreement with the employers under the Arbitration Court or Federation of Labor. The ballot resulted as follows: For Federation 140, for Arbitration 20, informal one. Considering the small number of votes it is believed that members of the Arbitration Union did not vote.
