FUNDS FROM AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. The New Zealand Federation of Labor received to-day £OOO from Australia towards the fund for the Waihi and Reefton miners. The Federation has also been informed that Newcastle miners have voted £2OO to the same fund and are considering the matter of imposing a levy. Miners at Wonthaggi, Victoria, have now made the first donation of £45 and struck a levy, while Broken Hill miners are paying a weekly levy of sixpence a head. The General Laborers' Union of New South Wales has voted £2O to the fund. Messrs. Hicky and Webb, the Federation delegates to Australia, write that they are being well received in labor circles.
