A syndicate, including Messrs. Barry, Till and Bavies, are fitting the steamer Melmore to search for treasure in the Cocos Islands, but a rival expedition hopes to reach the scene before them, SMUGGLING BY MOTOR. Paris, July 14. Smugglers using a motorcar rushed the French frontier, and used revolvers upon their pursuers. Finding their way towards Tourcoing barred, they abandoning half a ton of tobacco.
