His Majesty entertained Mr. Borden and the Canadian Ministers at lunch at Buckingham Palace. Mr. Asquith and other .Ministers and Lord Stratheona were present. THE MEDITERRANEAN. London. July 14. Captain Faber. M.P., asserted that when the Ministers returned from Malta they intended to abandon the Mediterranean, but after a severe struggle the Defence Committee succeeded in reversing the intention. He believed the Canadian offer would be 7,000,009 dollars I evcrv other veur.
