HON. J. BRYCE. ■/ Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, July 12. Mr. James Brycc arrived yesterday ; rom Sydney. He was welcomed .at the station by Messrs. Fisher, Hughes, Watt, and others. An informal reception was subsequently held at Parliament House, und Mr. Bryee was entertained at dinner in the evening by the Commerce Congress. Ho is a guest of the Federal. Government at a luncheon to-day, and of the State Government on Tuesday. He is a K"cat of the Governor, Sir J. M. Fuller, during h'n visit. AX ERRING LEGISLATOR. Brisbane, July 12. 1 Mr. Gillies, who was recently elected to the Assembly .as representative for Eacham, was charged with having falsely stated, in connection with his electoral claim, that he had been twelve months resident in Queensland, and that he was entitled to have his name placed on the roll. He was committed for trial.
