HOMING.
During the past week the New Plymouth East Flying' Club have decided two races for 19ri-I2 birds, the first event being the "Derby;" flown from Palmerston North. Although the weather conditions were unsuitable for fast times to be recorded, the birds homed well. Fifty-five birds, representing eleven lofts, competed, and the placed birds were-—M. 11. Boulton's Rosary, 3hrs. 32 min.. 1; 11. J. Moverley's Primrose, 3hrs. 32m in. lfisec, 2; F. James' Arcadia 11., 3hrs.|32min. 25sec, 3; W. Beale'a No. 215, and D. Murphy's Jewel, 3hrs. 32min., 4. The second race took the form of an interval.event from Wanganui, a distanceof 82 miles, each member sending one' bird, which were liberated at intervals of ten minutes. Ten members anticipated in the event, and a good race resulted as follows: R. Fanner's Revolt, 2hrs. 47 min., 1; 11. J. Moverley's Royal Oak, 2hrs. Mm'in., 2; F. James' Arcadia 11., 2hrs. 56min., 3. .
