EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE.. < "A VITAGRAPH MASTERPIECE."' ' ' "Chains of an Oath" is the title of su 2000 ft Vitagraph masterpiece to be shown at the Empire this afternoon and. again to-night. This photo-play is in. the form of a powerful Russian drama, thrilling with absorbing incidents, and when it is remembered that the film comes direct from the studio of the famous Vitagraph Company it can betaken for granted that every foot is. stamped with the hall mark of perfection. Other "feature" dramas are "TheLittle Organist'' (Edison), "The Twelfth' Juror'' (Tannhouser), and "Two Old' Pal*," a wonderful animal picture, in which "Toddles," the Selig elephant',. plays the principal part. The programme is well balanced by "The Gaumont Graphic," "Pathe's London Gazette" (world famous topical pictures), and a side-splitting comedy entitled "How John got out of difficulties," or"Early Morning Reflections." After viewing this picture the Audience will surely exclaim: "Oh! what a night it must have been." The orchestra will | play a special performance of music tonight, including. "The Arcadians," featuring "I've got a motter." WESTERX PARK EUCHRE PARTY. The fourth of the series of euchre parties and dances under the auspices of the Western Park Committee is to be held in the Brougham street hall on Wednesday next, when should the weather, which has not smiled so far on the committee's efforts to raise funds for the improvement of the ground, condescend to be kind there is certain to be a good attendance.
