THE NORDE,N CUP. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night. In the Norden Cup hockey match, played to-day, Wairarapa retained the title by defeating the Poverty Bay representatives by 5 goals to nil. The weather was not favorable, rain falling during the game. The ground was wet and soft. The visiting forwards were good at times, but were unable to pierce the defence of Wairarapa, whose backs were very sound. In the first spell Wairarapa notched two goals, scored by Fisher and Tunnicliffe. In the second spell Poverty JSay were outclassed, three goals being scored for the home team by Fisher and Smaile. The Poverty Bay goalkeeper received a nasty hit from a ball and left the field. The home team played an excellent game. The visitors, L.-ceepting the forwards, played poorly. Final score: Wairarapa 5 goals, Poverty Bay nil.
