The Naval Board recommends that the proportion of Protestant and Catholic chaplains to tiie fleet should be based on the census. Out of every four chaplains, three will be Protestant and one Catholic. Out of every tivi Protestants three wilt be Anglican and two representatives of other churches. The chaplains are to be subject, to naval discipline, the yearly salary being £317. including allowances. Mr. Pearce, Minister for Defence, approves of the scheme.
