RIFLE SHOOTING

1 NEW PLYMOUTH v. KAPONGA. A match between the New Plymouth and Kaponga Rifle Clubs was shot'yesterday on the Rewarewa range, between teams of eight men, the conditions being seven shots at 300 yds, 500 yds and 600 yds. The weather conditions were fair, though the wind was a little fitful at times. Despite this there was some excellent shooting, Rifleman Evans (New Plymouth) making 100 out of a possible 105. Rifleman Roots (Kaponga) and Rifleman Winslade (New Plymouth) also notched DO each. Possibles were scored by Rifleman Roots at 300 yds, Rifleman Holland at 500 yds, Rifleman Winslade at 500 yds, and Rifleman Bruce at 600 yds. The New Plymouth Club won by 18 points.
