This included 26 tons manure, 22 tons cement, 8 tons sugar and 220 cases of fruit, besides 1000 ft of timber. THE PETONE. The Petone was expected to arrive last night from Westport with a cargo of coal. She will discharge to-day. NEW FERRY STEAMER.

The new turbine steamer which is being built at Glasgow for the Union Company to run in conjunction with the* Maori in the Wellington-Lyttelton service, is to be named the Wahine. She will closely resemble the Maori, hut will be an improvement on that vessel. The Wahine will be about 375 ft in length, and will be several feet wider than the Maori. She will be about 3750 tons gross register (the Maori is 3399) and will have a speed of 21 knots per hour. She will be the fastest steamer in the company's fleet.
