The Meteorological Department published the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary: The barometer has continued high and •teady everywhere, with moderating and variable winds. Fair to cloudy and cold weather has prevailed, with drizzling rain about Foveaux Strait. Forecast: Present indications arc for a falling barometer everywhere soon, and especially in the south. Cold and misty weather in the morning, fair to cloudy afterwards, an<l indications for a change following shortly. South-easterly breezes, veering to easterly and freshening northwards of the East Cape and Kawhia, and westerlies backing to increasing northerlies elsewhere.
