At the Supreme Court to-day, the case of Kuku Ma tent Ropilia, charged with manslaughter by causing the death of two natives through the overturning of a motor-car. alleged to, have, been recklessly driven by him at Waipawa, was concluded this afternoon. A'y.crdict of guilty' was returned, with a. Strong recommendation to mercy.. . The jury added a rider that the law should be amended,, making it illegal for ai'iy person to drive a motor-car, who has not passed a stringent examination as to fitness.
