QUEEN ALEXANDRA'S JUBILEE. By Cable —Pross Association —C#pyright. Loudon, June 2G. A unique celebration marked the fiftieth anniversarv of Queen Alexandra s landing in England. Ten thousand ladies, including leading members of society and Australians, sold in the streets of London ten million artificial wild roses, her Majesty's favorite flower, made by cripples for the benefit of the hospitals. Queen Alexandra, in an open carriage, made a general tour through the streets.
THE QUEEN AND THE SUFFRAGETTES. London, June 28. Queen Alexandra was enthusiastically welcomed in the crowded streets. Mrs. Asquith was selling roses at Whitehall, Mrs. Llovd George on the Thames EmIwnkment. and Lady Reid among the Australian Knight Bachelors. Roses were sold for a guinea apiece at the Stock Exchange. Ellen Craig, a well-dressed Londoner, broke through a cordon of police and sprang on Mr, MeKcnna, the Minister in attendance. Siie also appealed to the Queen on behalf of the suffragettes. She was arrested after a fierce struggle with the detectives. Twenty-three hunger strikers have now been released.
