OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. By Cable—Press Association -Copyright. London, June 25. Ray won the open golf championship with a score of 295. THE BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP. Received 27, 12.5 a.m. London, June 2G. At the golf championship Yardon was second with 299, and Braid third with 303. Michael Scott (Australia) scored 387. NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. At Ngamotu this afternoon the first of a series of matches for Thursday players will be played for the trophy presented by Mr. J. S. S. Medley. It is | intended to confine the players to Thursday players proper, and so matches will require to be commenced not later than 2.30 on each day. There will probably be four, or five matches, not all necessarily medal handicaps, and the winner of each match will score three points, and the third one point. At the end of J the series the player with the highest number of points will be the winner. A I special handicap will be arranged for all % those taking part.
