THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. ' The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary.—Fair to jeloudy weather has prevailed, with light showers in parts. The barometer is still high in the north, but has shown a falling tendency everywhere to-day. Thd Winds have been variable and moderate to strong, generally westerlies predominating-. Forecast,—Present indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather generally, with showers, especially on the West Coast. The conditions will probably be squally about Foveaux Strait, where there are evidences of a disturbance to the southward of New Zealand. Moderate to strong northerly and westerly winds are probable, with a falling barometer everywhere, and very unsettled in the southernmost districts.
