THE WEATHER.
ISUMMARY AND FORECAST. B7 Telegraph—Preai Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary.—The weather has improved to-day everywhere, except in Foveaux Strait. The barometer has risen considerably about the East Cape, and is high everywhere, hut is falling in the south. Winds are moderate to strong, variable southerlies predominating in the north and northerlies in the south. Forecast.—Present indications are for a falling barometer everywhere soon, and especially in the south. The moderate to strong southerly breeze will probably change to freshening northerly winds after about sixteen hours northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and increasing northerlies elsewhere. Fair to cloudy and milder weather may be expected in the north, and increasing cloudiness elsewhere, with rain following on the West Coast and in the southern districts, and squally condition" in Foveaux Strait.
