Playing in the Western District tennis tournament, Quill (New Zealand) was beaten in the seeond round of the singles championship. Parker and Quill Won the semi-final of the doubles. THE DAVIS CUP. Received 25, 1.5 a.m. Sydney, June 24. The Tennis Association has been notified by the English Association that it is agreeable to Melbourne as a venue for the challenge round of the Davis Cup, but desires it to be played in December instead of November, as suggested by the Australasian Association. France and America have already agreed. Melbourne, June 24. The request to alter the date is likely to hamper the management in making the necessary arrangements.
