SYDNEY SHEEP MARKET. Received 21, 1.10 ajn. Sydney, June 20. Prime killing sheep are scare and dear. Orossbreds sold up to 40s. LOAN & MERCANTILE OO.'S REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Limited and Reduced (Stratford branch) report as follows: On Monday, 17th inst., we held a clearing sale on account of Messrs Judd Bros., Tariki road, Tariki. There was a very largo attendance of people (about 250), comprising local purchasers, as well as buyers from Tututawa, Douglas, Toko, Eltham, Hawera and Manaia. The sundries were first disposed of, with keen comeptition, and every line was cleared at full market rates as follows: S.F. plough £O, 2-lcaf tine harrows 48s, Donald jack 455. cans 13s, 10s and 20s, springmilk cart £ls 2s 6d. harness £5, tip dray £B, roller £l. Horses were sold as follows: Seven-year-old horse £26 2s Oil, 4-year horse £25 ss, plough horse £l4 ss, gig horse £l6 10s. The sale of stock coiumrnced with a very nice line of weaner cattle (mixed), which fell to a Ngaere client, after spirited bidding, at •545. A line of very nice Holxtein-Jersey heifers, rising two years old, in .calf, elicited very keen competition, and were purchased by a well-known Tariki farmer at £7 . A 2-year-old Jersey bull made •£fl ss. The dairy herd of 4l' cmv«, which followed, appeared a well-select (I and cared-for line, amov; which was a large percentage of Ap-.hire type. Bidding was spirited for n-arly every cow, prices ranging from £0 5s ro £ls ss, for a nice colored Holstein. which appeared to be the favorite color. The cows averaged just under £lO. We also offered on behalf of Messrs Bannan Bros., by the kind permission of Messrs Judd -Bros., several nice useful horses and a quantity of sundries, all of which were sold at satisfactory prices as •follows:—Gig pony £5, horse £27 10s. plough horse (aged) £l2, s.f. plough ,i::i. tank 425. cooler and outfit £5, cans ! ■'••. choking tube 13s, 4-wheelcd brake £lB ss, a sow £3 ss, do. £3 10s. We also offered, on account of Messrs Tichbon Bros., two purebred Holstein bulls, sired by the famous De Kol Pontiac Burke, for which there was keen competition, the smaller one being passed in at 44 guineas, while the larger one was sold at 05 guineas. On Tuesday, 18th inst., we held our usual fortnight sale, in conjunction with Messrs W. H. H. Young and Co. Stock came forward in greater numbers than usual, 2-year-old steers being especially in evidence. Prices realised were as follows:—Mixed weaners (small) 29s Od to 365, weaner steers 36a to 425, yearling heifers (showing Jersey) £3 9s 6d to £3 15s, 18-months empty heifers £3 10s to £3 13s, 15,-months steers 48s to 55s 6d, 2-year steers £3 15s to £4 ss", 2-year heifers in calf £4 5s to £6 ss, 3-year bullocks £4 12s 6d to £4 15s, dairy cows £6 5s to £7 15s, 3-year fat heifers £5 6s to £5 10s, fat cows £6 to £6 65., During the week we have disposed of several lines of cattle and sheep privately at the following prices.—Two-year-empty heifers 665, 67s 6d and 70s; yearling heifers 60s, 54s and 555; mixed yearlings 30s, 35s and 38s; 2>/ 2 -year heifers in calf 105s, 110s, 120s and 1235; 3-year steers £4 12s fid to £4 15s, lambs 8s <sd, 8s fld, 9s, 0s 6d, 10s, 10s 3d, 10s 6d; ewes ,11s, lis 6d, 13s, 14s 3d, 15s 6d; dairy heTds £8 Bs, £9 and £10; 2-year hoistein bull 20 guineas.
