THE MAIN TRUNK LINE

BLOCKED BY SLIPS. By Telegraph— Press Association. Te Kuiti, Last Night. The Main Trunk line was blocked by a slip on the line at Poratarao, south of the tunnel, this morning. The passenger train from Taumanmui to Aucklami was detained for half an hour by signs of the lino slipping. Eventually the train crawled over the place. Later in the day the line slipped four feet. A large gang of men were put on to make a deviation, but it is anticipated that the work will not be completed before to-morrow night *t the earliest. Till then the service will be completely blocked, and passengers and mails will have to be transhipped at the slip. The place where the slip occurred is high papa country, liable to slips. There is no accommodation, and passengers -will have rather an uncomfortable time.
