THE SUFFRAGETTES
MR. LLOYD GEORGE MOBBED. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. London, June 19. When Mr. Lloyd George was leaving Caxton Hall, after opening a Welsh bazaar, he was mobbed by x suffragettes, but was rescued by the bystanders. WOMAN'S SUFFRAGE. ITS RELIGIOUS ASPECT. Received 20, 11.25 p.m. London, June 20. The Archbishop of Canterbury, in a letter read at two large meetings at the Queen's Hall, said that he considered that the religious aspect of the women's movement was depreciated by dallying unduly with the Parliamentary franchise. Woman's place in the country's life called for far-reaching consideration of the old formulae, which were inapplicable to the facts of to-day. The reaction has elements of greater danger, and should be considered in the light of Christian teaching.
