The following is the High Commissioner's cablegram under date London, June 18, quotations, unless otherwise specified, being average market prices on spot:-^ Eggs.—The market is quiet, but theTe is moderate business doing and a better demand for cheaper sorts; per 120 Home 8s Od to 9s fid l , Australian 6s 9d to 7s 6d, Russian 0s 9d to 7s 6d, Italian 8s 3d to 9s 3d, French 9s 6d to 103 6d, Danish 8s 3d to 9s 3d, Dutch 7s 6d to 10s. Poultry. The market is firm, but there is a small supply; chickens, Home 1* to Is 3d per lb, Russian lid to Is Id; ducklings, Home !)d to lOd, Chinese 7d to 7M>d; turkeys, practically cleared. Hi con.—The market has been unfavorably affected by the strike recently, but has been improving during the last week. The market is steady and holders are firm. .Sides, Irish 87s to 77a per cwt, Danish 64s to 735, Canadian 58s to 70s, Swedish 64s to 70s, Russian 48s to 645. Ilam.—The market is quiet, with small business doing. The demand is chiefly for long cuts. Irish 85s to 104s per ewt, English 88s to 104s, Canadian 76s to 82s, American 59s to 735.
