No dairy farmer cai affofd to be without a copy of Sykes's Annual for 1912. It is compiled in a very interesting manner, and in addition to its great utility on the farm has much information that must prove invaluable. Tables for recording each day's milking for the year are given, also memoranda of stock purchased and sold, breeding table, hjrd register, table of doses, seed sowing table, etc. In fact, the Annual is full of information that every dairyman must know to be successful. Copies can be obtained from A. E. Sykes, Veterinary Chemist, New Plymouth.—Advt. The Commission appointed to enquire into the cost of living cannot be said to be making much headway. The evidence given is purely parochial, and does not affect the main question—the cause of the increase. Milk, butter, cheese, fish, meat and most of the necessaries of life have advanced in price, but euch is not the case with tea. In the centres of production tea has advanced, but no change has been made in either the prices or the quality of Crescent Tea. There axe three grades, sold at 1/8, 1/10 and 2/per lb. — Advt. ~ j>; t ,
