TERRIBLE TORNADOES
SENSATIONAL WINDSTORMS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York, June 17. Twenty-eight have been killed and many injured by tornadoes in Central Missouri and Ohio. Hundreds of dwellings have been unroofed. The Catholic Church steeple collapsed at Zanesville and fell through the roof, killing the Rev. Father Roach, who was engaged in administering the last sacrament to a man who had previously been struck by a portion of a falling will. Oklahoma suffered! severely, and many deaths are recorded. A freight train was blown off the tracks. The wind carried a baby half a mile in mid-«ir, and landed it almost unhurt. THE GALE IN NEW YORK. Received 19, 12.25 a.m. New York, June 18. The gale levelled an entire village at Kayloe. Oklahoma. Three hundred inhabitants escaped, though many were buried in the debris. Great damage was done in the surrounding country.
