By TelegTaph—Press Association. p ' Wellington, Last Night. f The Meteorological Department published the following summary and fore- £ cist.at 5 p.m.:—Summary: Heavy rain has fallen, and the rivers are flooded in Westland. Seas have also been very heavy on the west coast of the South ' Island. The weather has been generally ' unsettled andl showery, with • westerly f winds, strong to a gale, and the barome- ■ ter unsteady. Forecast. Present indica^ ■ tions are for high westerly winds, veer- ; ing to a southerly gale. Stormy and X ' colder weather is probable, with rain I generally and snow on the higher levels. '- The barometer will probably rise fast soon in the soufch, but a falling tendteney : may he expected in the north. Heavy ; seas are probable on all the western - coast and in Cook and Foveaux straits. i
