EXAMINATIONS CONDEMNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Saturday. Giving evidence before the Education Commission, Mr. Pinder, head of the Training College, urged considerable modifications in the primary course. The present system of examination for junior scholarships conduced to cram and overpressure. No girl of fourteen should be allowed to sit for scholarship examinations, as by reason of over-pressure much physical harm was being done to them. The Otago Institute strongly favored the abolition of scholarships.'
