An open verdict was returned at the inquest on the body of Edward Campbell Johnston, found in the harbor. Deceased was an engineer, lately resident at Christchurch, where it is stated he leaves a, widow and three children. SYDNEY'S POLICE. Sydney, June 14. The Inspector-General of Police has recommended the addition of 225 to the strength of the police force, and increased pay to all ranks, to operate on July 1, involving an expenditure of £96,515 per annum.
